UBF Hymns Singing Section
There
will be a meeting held on the 14th of November 1999 (Sunday) at
8.00 p.m. in the MPP Meeting Room (above Deli Cafe). Those who can
sing, play musical instruments, compose songs ..blah..blah..blah
are encouraged to join the group. There will be also ice-breaking session
for members to know each other better.

Course Outline:
1) It will take 2 semesters to complete
the whole course.
2) First semester - Mindfulness
Second
semester - Loving Kindness
Date : Start from 15 Nov 1999 (Monday)
Time : Every Monday Night, 8:00p.m to 10:00p.m.
Venue : BM-3-011
Registration fee : Free
Qualification : All Buddhists who have
a healthy thinking, who are sincere to increase his/her Dhamma knowledge
are welcome to join.
Rules:
1) Please be punctual when attend
for class. Members are not allowed to miss the class without reason.
Members have to inform the teacher earlier if you can not attend
the class.
2) No more members are allowed to join the class
once the course has started.
3) Members are advised to wear
plain colour shirt and pants which is comfortable for meditation
while attending the class.
4) Members have to keep a sincere
heart to learn while taking the course.

Welcoming Nite (Nov Intake 1999)
It was really a successful night organized by Welcoming
Nite Commitees headed by Bro. Chew Yee Duan. Around 150 members
(new + old members) turned up for the event. Exhibitions outside
the theatre had gained the attention of the members. Membership
forms were given out to the new students. Around 50 new students
registered themselves to be a member of UBF. Bodhi Leaves (both
English and Mandarin Version) were given out free of charge. Selling
of UBF T-Shirts did not get much response. Performances like singing
and miming were simply great. Games and ice-breaking made that night
more memorable. The seniors and the juniors got to know each other
better and all of us are like a family under the same roof of UBF.

Launching of UBF Official Homepage
The
UBF Official Homepage was successfully launched by the UBF Advisor,
Dr. Ong Hang See on the 3rd of November 1999. The homepage consists
of:-
i) the latest happenings of the society,
ii) the
online registration for the new students and the seniors who wish
to become a member of UBF
iii) the yearly activities of the
society
iv) the members names and email addresses
v) the
dhamma (Buddha's teaching)
The purpose of this homepage
is to establish UBF as a Buddhist society to everybody in UNITEN.
It also serves as an information centre to all UBF members. Thus,
it encourages all the UBF members to learn about Information Technology
so that they won't be behind time. UBF also uses this homepage to
spread the dhamma (Buddha's teaching) for the benefits of many.

as UBF R&D Group)
The UBF R&D Group
consists of 2 main sections:
i) UBF Bodhi Leaves
This section is in charge of
the production of the UBF Monthly News letter.
ii) UBF Dhamma WindThis section is in charge of the production of the
UBF Official Homepage.
iii) UBF Library
This section is in charge of the library of UBF.
